"I'm a machinist and dull up a lot of drill bits. We had a $3500 sharpening machine that gave out about 4 years ago. I bought the older style Drill Doctor at a big-box store to get me by for a week or two. I never did get the big machine repaired. Didn't need to. This Drill Doctor did everything I needed just as fast, and just as well. I recently purchased this newer style (the 750x model) just on a lark. It works as well as my older model, but saves me a minute or two in setup time. It's a little slicker. The only complaint I had with the older model was explaining the sequence of setup steps to the newer guys in the shop. Took like 15 minutes. Now, most new guys seem to figure things out by themselves on the newer model without me. Both models are good sharpeners. The newer one is a little easier to use."
