I used this to repair my kayak since it came with more rods than the kayak repair kit and was the same price. Worked great, I had a little trouble with the second weld I did, but I was at a wierd angle.

The Urethane company's ATV Pro Fender Welder uses the same plastic welding gun as their Model 6
The ONLY difference is you don't get the carry-case, the temperature reostat (for welding Nylon, PVC, or ABS), and you ONLY get Polyethelene welding rods (since all ATV fenders are made from polyethelene plastic)

this product payed for itself in the first thirty minutes of use I would buy one if you need to fix some plastic

I bought the kit for the welder and not the urethane welding rods. The welder works great. I am using it to fabricate prototype bicycle fenders and seats out of polyethylene sheet stock.
If I would use it more often a differnt model with temperature control would have been necessary. But for occasional work, this one works fine.
